DB Markquese Bell of Bridgeton, NJ Thursday put in a full work day at Clemson with Tiger defensive coordinator Brent Venables. Bell said he and two of his high school coaches arrived shortly after 9:00 AM and were there until 7:00 PM.
“I loved it it,” Bell said. “Everything was put together, everything was really close. Everybody seemed like they knew each other. Felt like a family aspect, like if you go there they will take care of you.”
Venables has been recruiting Bell hard and Bell said he talked more with him about how he sees him fitting in with his defense.
“He likes my ball skills and how I attack the ball,” Bell said. “They need DBs and he just said they need quality DBs. That’s what they’ve been looking for.”
Bell doesn’t have a clear favorite at the moment but the visit with Clemson did the Tigers a lot of good with him.
“It puts them probably at the top of my list,” Bell said. “There’s others at the top…Michigan, Rutgers, Florida, Temple, a lot of schools.”
The Clemson visit was Bell’s first of the summer since he just finished the school year Monday. He is going to Ohio State July 22nd. He’s planning to wait until Signing Day for a decision and he plans to return to Clemson for an official visit in the fall.
