DE Deandre Johnson of Miami, who is thought by some to be a strong lean to USC, said Tuesday night he hasn’t heard from the Gamecocks in weeks.
“I haven’t heard from them in a minute, I haven’t heard from them at all, since shortly after my visit there (in April),” Johnson said. “Nothing. I reached out to them and haven’t heard back yet. I’m very surprised. I’ve seen a couple of D-ends commit. Either they’ve dropped me or something like that.”
Johnson recently tweeted that he would release a short list on July 25th but he said Tuesday night he likely will do that in the next two weeks. Despite not having heard from the Gamecocks, he plans to have them on the list.
“They’ll be on there just because of the love and I like the school but they are slipping down now,” he said adding that Mississippi State, Tennessee, Auburn and California most likely will be on the list as well.
He has been to Mississippi State and Miami for camps this summer and he plans to go to Florida July 23rd and also to Tennessee in July.
