Four days after landing an offer from USC at camp, LB Davonne Bowen of Woodmont plans to make his college commitment announcement. Bowen wrote on his Twitter account Monday night that he will reveal his decision Wednesday at Noon.
Bowen has seen his recruiting interest escalate in recent weeks. His most recent offers, along with USC, include Louisville, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri and Army. He also has several mid-major offers.
Bowen has not named a favorite publicly but he made it no secret on Saturday how happy he was to get the Gamecocks’ offer.
“I’ve been looking and waiting for that USC offer to come in,” Bowen said. “I’ve always loved USC and I have really been waiting on the offer. They’ve been showing lots of interest and have been recruiting me for some time now. The coaches were saying they love my skill set and my athleticism and that I have the gift and talent and work ethic to play all four linebacker positions.”
Last season Bowen totaled 61.5 tackles and 14 sacks.
