Clemson’s second chance philosophy for transfers scores again. The Tigers will become the second college basketball home for 6-8 David Skara, a native of Croatia who played last season at Valparaiso. The news was announced by his former prep school Don Bosco Prep in Crown Point, IN.
Skara will become the fifth D1 transfer on the Clemson roster this season joining guards Avry Holmes, Marcquise Reed and Shelton Mitchell and center Eli Thomas who all started their college careers at other programs.
Skara also looked at Georgia Tech and Richmond. He wanted to consider Vanderbilt as well where his former coach at Valpo Bryce Drew is now head coach but his former school blocked him from transferring there.
Skara averaged six points and three rebounds per game last season. He will sit out this coming season and will have two seasons of eligibility with the Tigers.
