RB D’Andre Swift of Philadelphia has had a top ten of Clemson, USC, Penn State, Maryland, Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Michigan, Florida State and Miami and said that remains unchanged. And the Tigers and Gamecocks are keeping up the communications with him but the Tigers seem to be making the stronger push for him at this point.
“I have a good relationship with Coach (Tony) Elliott, the (Clemson) running backs coach,” Swift said. “We talk on like a daily basis about on the field and off the field stuff. He talks about me getting back down there to see the whole setup again because I didn’t get to see the whole school aspect of it, I just saw the practice part. I need to get down there again.”
Swift visited Clemson in March and got a good look at the Tigers’ offense in practice mode.
“It was very uptempo and looks like an offense I could be a part of and play in and contribute to,” Swift said. “I like the fast pace offense, spread the ball, and find different ways to get the running back the ball. I just like the uptempo.”
Elliott has been thru the school once and is returning for his second visit Friday.
Bobby Bentley is recruiting Swift for USC and like Elliott is making sure Swift knows how strongly interested the Gamecocks are in him.
“I’ve got a pretty good relationship with Coach Bentley,” he said. “He’s very interested in me and wants me to be a Gamecock. He said he’s going to try to get up to my school. We’ve been on the phone a couple of times. And I talk with one of the players I know from Philly, Dave Williams. We have a good relationship.”
Swift said right now Georgia, Penn State, Clemson, Alabama and Florida State are the schools recruiting him the hardest. He hopes to visit Florida State and Alabama this summer and he also wants to get back to Clemson.
Swift said he could have a decision this summer but if not he’ll make one in January.
Last season Swift rushed for 1200 yards and 21 touchdowns.
