LB Jordan Anthony (6-0 220) of IMG Academy, FL Saturday released his current top 10 on his Twitter page. Anthony, a native of Olney, MD, listed Clemson, Michigan, Maryland, Oklahoma, LSU, Penn State, Georgia, Ohio State, UCLA and Auburn. “This list is based on my recruiting to this point and may be subject to change based on communication with coaches and planned visits,” Anthony wrote adding the schools are not listed in any order. He has visited Michigan and Penn State this spring.
6-8 Keanu Pinder of Hutchinson JC, KS and Perth, Australia, signed Saturday night with Arizona. Pinder also visited USC and NC State during this recruiting process for him. He previously had committed to Nebraska and New Mexico. He’s the son of former NC State star Tiny Pinder. Arizona also beat out Clemson for a player earlier in the week when UNC Asheville transfer PG Dylan Smith signed with the Wildcats.
DE Mykelle McDaniel of Loganville, GA is getting closer to having his qualifying status figured out. According to his assistant coach Kenyatta Watson, the NCAA has approved McDaniel’s classes and he’s now waiting to see if he’s passed the graduation test. Watson said Georgia and Texas A&M are the two schools are the two schools keeping in touch with McDaniel. He said McDaniel hasn’t mentioned USC to him recently. At one point McDaniel favored the Gamecocks.
Clemson Friday offered 2018 DE Dorian Hardy (6-5 245) of Montvale, NJ.
ATH Tancey Richardson of South Aiken said USC recruiter Travaris Robinson did not make it to his scrimmage Friday as was planned. “Kind of a disappointment,” said Richardson who just recently was contacted by Robinson. Central Florida has started showing interest. Richardson talked Saturday night with his Mississippi State recruiter. The Bulldogs offered last month. Richardson said he’s getting close on a decision but isn’t all the way there yet.
QB Braxton Burmeister of La Jolla, CA recommitted to Arizona on Friday. USC was a finalist and he visited earlier this spring. Burmeister originally committed to the Wildcats in January and decommitted in March. His connection with the Gamecocks was thru quarterbacks coach Kurt Roper.
