6-7 Christian Brown of AC Flora is about to complete his freshman year in high school and he will do so with at least one big time offer. Clemson coach Brad Brownell offered Brown on Saturday after seeing him perform in Indianapolis. Needless to say, it was an exciting moment for Brown when he got the news of the offer.
“Getting my first offer from an in-state college felt really good,” Brown said. “There is a lot of talent in South Carolina and for Clemson to recognize my potential as a freshman means a lot to me.”
Brown helped to lead the Falcons to a state championship by averaging 15 points per game. He is also getting interest from USC, Wake Forest, Virginia, Tennessee, Yale, Florida State, North Carolina, NC State, Georgia State and Brown.
“Hopefully this offer is just the beginning,” Brown said. “I have a lot of work to put in to be the best I can be. I’m not in a rush just yet.”
Living in Columbia, Brown has had ample access to USC. Plus, a family member played football for the Gamecocks a few years back.
“I’ve had more opportunities to attend more of USC events since I was six due to my uncle Mike Davis playing for Steve Spurrier,” he said. “I had the opportunity to attend both Clemson and USC elite camps as a 7th and 8th grader. Hopefully this summer I will have more opportunities to visit both schools and the coaching staffs to get a better insight into their programs.”
