DE Zachary Carter (6-5 235) of Tampa is no stranger to Clemson and the Tiger coaches. His visit for Saturday’s spring game was his third in less than year. He was in for the Florida State last season and a junior day in March so he’s well versed on Clemson and vice versa.
“On this visit I got to spend time with some players, hangout with the players and spend a little more time with some coaches one-on-one,” Carter said. “I really enjoyed it. I really took away from it that I’m their guy at defensive end. They made me feel like a priority.”
Carter said he spoke with Dabo Swinney in his office and got the message from him how much the Tigers want him.
“Coach Hobby has been giving me that memo for a while now,” Carter said. “They are already very high on my list. They are still very high.”
Carter said he doesn’t have an official short list yet but he’s also thinking pretty hard about Florida, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Notre Dame and Auburn along with Clemson. His only other visit this spring was to Florida and he’s going to Ole Miss Thursday. He won’t make a decision until after his season.
Last season Carter recorded 76 tackles and 8. sacks.
