An overlooked but not totally forgotten member of the 2016 recruiting class in South Carolina is ATH Stephen Davis Jr. of Dutch Fork. A knee injury cost Davis almost all of his senior season. And he said his own indecision, and not academics, is why he remains unsigned at the beginning of April.
“Right now I’m still talking to Carolina and Auburn and as of right now I’m just trying to get done with high school,” Davis said. “Around May 20th or sometime around there I’ll probably announce my decision. I qualify for NCAA. I’m just taking my time to gather information still, what position I’m still going to play and all that.”
Davis said he last talked with USC coach Will Muschamp about a month ago.
“We just talked about what was going to happen and all that and what I’m looking for in a school,” Davis said. He said he plans to visit USC again soon and also plans to take another visit to Auburn.
Davis can play safety and running back and he would prefer running back but neither school has specified which position he’s wanted for.
