USC basketball coach Frank Martin was back in Columbia Monday from the Final Four and had a long session with the media to recap his most successful season to date in Columbia.
First on Martin’s agenda was his announcement that suspended players Eric Cobb and Jamall Gregory were dismissed from the program following their arrests last month firing a BB gun at cars and other property. The three other suspended players, Chris Silva, Marcus Stroman and Temarcus Blanton, remain suspended and Martin will decide their future with the program.
Martin also talked about his four year contract extension and his team’s omission from the NCAA Tournament, saying he thought on Selection Sunday the Gamecocks were a lock for the field.
After Martin’s presser concluded, Oklahoma State announced it had hired Martin’s assistant Lamont Evans to join Brad Underwood’s new staff.
