According to multiple reports, USC will extend Frank Martin’s contract at a Board of Trustees meeting Friday afternoon. The State Newspaper first reported the story about Martin’s extension. As we reported here, Martin has met with Athletic Director Ray Tanner at least two times in the past week to iron out a deal. They didn’t discuss the contract during the season, per a request from Martin to Tanner.
Martin just finished the fourth year of a six year contract that pays him 2.1 million dollars per season. The new deal is expected to include a pay raise and a length that will keep him on the Gamecocks bench for the next six seasons. The BOT will meet at 1:00 tomorrow to approve the deal. At that time details of the contract will be released.
