LB KJ Britt (6-1 235) of Oxford, AL was offered by USC earlier this month while Clemson is showing interest but has not yet offered. Britt has heavy interest in both. He’s planning to attend Clemson’s spring game April 9th and hopes to get to USC at some point as well.
“I starting talking to South Carolina this (past) week,” Britt said. “I like coach Muschamp, T-Rob and Coach Hutzler. I’ve been talking to Coach Hutzler about every day. They tell me I’m a linebacker that fits the system and can’t wait to get me up there. They’ve got a chance to rebuild with a great coach. Muschamp gets guys in the league and gets you where you want to go.”
Britt said he’s also been in regular contact with Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables and recruiter Robbie Caldwell.
“Coach Venables told me they are not taking that many linebackers in this class and he told me everything will work itself out.”
Britt has 26 offers. Others besides USC include Auburn, Alabama, Mississippi State, Virginia Tech, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Louisville, Michigan and Tennessee. He plans to release a top 12 in April and said USC is definitely on it and Clemson will be with an offer.
Britt will visit Georgia Tuesday and Auburn Thursday with good friend and fellow linebacker Tadarian Moultry (6-2 225) of Birmingham. Moultry said he was offered earlier this year by Clemson but hasn’t heard from the Tigers since. He said other offers are Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Mississippi State and Troy.
