Charleston Southern (10-2) will take the national spotlight on Friday night. The Buccaneers will face No. 1 Jacksonville State (11-1) in the FCS Division I Football Championship quarterfinals live on ESPN2 on Friday evening in Jacksonville, Ala. Kickoff is at 8 p.m. ET.
CSU became only the second Big South team in history to advance to the FCS Quarterfinals with a 14-6 win over The Citadel in front of a record crowd at Buccaneer Field on Saturday.
The Bucs and Gamecocks, which meet for the first time, are one of two quarterfinals played on Friday night. No. 7 Richmond travels to No. 2 Illinois State also meet at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN3.
The CSU-Jacksonville State winner will face the winner of Colgate (9-4) and Sam Houston State (10-3) in the national semifinals on Dec. 18-19. Both Colgate and SHSU picked up road wins over national seeds on Saturday.
No. 3 North Dakota State will host Missouri Valley Conference rival Northern Iowa and No. 2 Illinois State will host No. 7 Richmond in the other two quarterfinals.
The 2016 FCS National Championship Game is at noon on Jan. 9 in Frisco, Tex.
