Things have not gone well for the USC basketball team since the start of conference play last month. The Gamecocks have lost all but two of their league games, letting a late lead slip away in more than a few of them. Against Vanderbilt Saturday, USC let a 12 point second half lead disappear when Vandy went on an 18-0. Frank Martin said his team looked like a rec league squad for the final 10 minutes. That being said, he’s taken the glass half full approach of judging his team by the way it has played to build leads, and, at least earlier this season, but some quality teams like Oklahoma State, Iowa State and Clemson.
USC will play Missouri tomorrow night, a matchup that will be played in Colonial Life Arena. Later this week they play at top ranked and unbeaten Kentucky. Below you can listen to what Frank Martin and Sindarius Thornwell had to say about the current state of Gamecock basketball heading into this week’s matchups.
