USC has four active recruiting situations as of Monday afternoon. From checking with various sources, we’ve got this status report on each target:
DB Damon Arnette of Fort Lauderdale plans to announce his decision at 8:30 PM tonight. Arnette has been committed to USC and is coming off an official visit to Ohio State. He also visited Michigan. The decision came down to the Gamecocks and Buckeyes. Monday morning it appeared USC remained in good shape but Monday afternoon indications point toward Ohio State.
DE Arden Key of Atlanta is a two time USC commitment. It does not appear as of Monday afternoon he will become a three time Gamecock commitment when he announces Monday night some time after 10:00 PM on the Next Level program on Fox Sports South. LSU came in the end of last week and apparently turned him as well as some close to him. USC was not able to contact him thru the weekend or thru Monday afternoon. The indications are he will announce Monday night for LSU.
DB Rashad Fenton of Miami took an official visit to Louisville over the weekend. He also visited Florida and USC. His coach said earlier today he was expecting a decision from Fenton either Monday night or Tuesday morning. Fenton has all three schools still on the table. Indications Monday afternoon are USC stands in good shape with him.
DE Tega Wanogho Jr. of Elmore, AL made an official visit to Auburn over the weekend. That was his second visit. He’s also been to LSU. He is scheduled to visit Mississippi State February 13th and Tennessee February 20th. Obviously he is not signing on Wednesday. USC continues to work with Wanogho and his coaches. Kirk Botkin is friends with his head coach and is trying to get an official visit scheduled for later this month. There’s no indication of a favorite.
