ATH Denzel Johnson of AC Flora and his family will spend the weekend at Clemson for an official visit and Johnson said Wednesday night the odds of him committing before leaving are favorable.
“Scale of one to ten, like seven or eight,” said Johnson who talked earlier in the night with recruiter Brent Venables and was told the Tigers might look at him first as a wide receiver. “It’s either them or NC State so far.”
Johnson said the Wolfpack offered him as a receiver in early January and he is scheduled to visit there January 30th. But he said if he commits to Clemson, he will cancel that visit.
Johnson has been to Clemson in the past and he wants to use the official visits to see more of the campus and the facilities.
“I want to feel comfortable there,” he said. “Hopefully they’ll have a nice weight room and facilities.”
Johnson has taken an official visit to Towson. He also has offers from Liberty, Georgia Southern, The Citadel, SC State and Appalachian State.
This season Johnson had 66 catches for 910 yards and 12 touchdowns. On defense he had 60 tackles and 2 interceptions.
