The wild and crazy ride that is 2014 is almost over. We thought it might be interesting to take a look back at what stories we posted in this web space that you found most interesting. The following list is not our top 10 stories of the year, rather the 10 ten most viewed stories on the website this year. Let’s take a trip down memory and see what people were clicking on the most in 2014.

10: Goodbye Hardee’s trophy, hello (fill in the blank)–Korn’s breaking story about the end of the Hardees Trophy got a lot of attention. Six weeks later the school’s made it official when they announced the rivalry game had been trademarked as the “Palmetto Bowl” and a new trophy ordered.
9: No, Steve Spurrier did not take pleasure in Deshaun Watson’s injury – KMac’s piece debunking the theory that Steve Spurrier made light of Deshaun Watson’s knee injury at Georgia Tech.
8: If Muschamp comes to USC, it won’t be as head coach in waiting – You knew there was going to be one Will Muschamp story in here. There was a lot of smoke with Muschamp, not so much fire.
7: How about a rap song featuring Clemson commit Chad Kelly? – This story was written in January of 2012, but it was a top ten viewed story this year because for some reason people rush back to find this song every time Kelly gets in trouble, which was a lot in 2014. He got kicked off the Clemson team in April, then arrested this month. Chad Kelly had a very bad year. #Swag
6: Former Clemson star defensive back arrested in Myrtle Beach- This was a link to an unfortunate and bizzare story involving former Tiger Terry Kinard.
5: USC’s Ray Tanner on football season, Spurrier’s future –Ray Tanner joined us on SportsTalk in early November to talk a some Gamecock fans off the ledge and share his thoughts on the rumblings that Steve Spurrier was mulling retirement. Less than four weeks later Spurrier announced he planned to coach “two or three” more years, a comment that ended up scaring some recruits so he modified it in Mid-December to get back on the “four to five year plan.”
4: When will Deshaun Watson return? A couple of doctors explain LCL injuries –This story was posted a few days after Watson was hurt against Georgia Tech. Little did we know then that Watson would tear his ACL a couple of days later in practice. Watson ended up returning against USC and dropping four touchdowns on the Gamecocks. He had surgery a few weeks later.
3: The chain of events that led to tension in the USC Clemson game –There’s never any love lost when USC and Clemson meet and tension was running high late in the second game of the series this year. This story features a compilation of Vines highlighting the late fireworks when things got chippy in Greenville.
2: Steve Spurrier says Clemson fans shouldn’t listen to him – In January Steve Spurrier and the Gamecock football team were honored at a USC basketball game. It was here Steve Spurrier offered some advice to the Clemson folks who get upset every time the HBC mentions anything about “that school in the Upstate.” As you can tell by the number 9 story on this list, Clemson fans deed not heed his advice.
1: COMMENTARY: Politics win out over dedication in Clemson play-by-play change There was no more “Orange in the end zone” on the airways this football season. Shortly after Clemson announced its decision to remove Pete Yanity from his longtime role as “Voice of the Tigers” Kornblut wrote this popular piece.
