Thanksgiving apparently turned out to be quite bountiful for Clemson offensive coordinator Chad Morris. According to reports on the 247Sports.com and Scout.com, Morris has agreed to become the new head coach at SMU.
Reporter Chip Brown of Austin, TX, who writes for the Scout site HornsDigest.com, has some pretty strong details on the story he released on Twitter:
“An announcement of Chad Morris as
#SMU‘s new head coach likely the first week of December, SMU source told me.
Morris, of course, is a native of Texas and has been involved in head coaching opportunities the last couple of years. Morris is one of the highest paid assistants in college football at 1.3 million dollars per season. His contract does allow him to leave for a head coaching job without penalty.
