USC takes the opening kickoff and moves down the field. Dylan Thompson it a couple of nice passes and Pharoh Cooper and Brandon Wilds broke off a couple of big runs. But a third down pass to the end zone for Rory Anderson was broken up and Elliott Fry booted a 42 yard field goal for an early 3-0 lead.
The Jaguars responded with an impressive opening drive of their own. They went 70 yards in 14 plays using up over 6:00 of clock time. But at the end they could only muster a 22 yard field goal by Aleem Sunanon. That was the longest drive in terms of plays and time of possession this season against USC.
The Gamecocks came right back down the field with another score going 73 yards in 6 plays. The capper was a 29 yard pass by Thompson to Nick Jones. USC 10-3.
