2016 ATH Davante Turner (5-11 195) of Lake City made an unofficial visit to USC for the Tennessee game. It was a good experience for Turner and he is expressing interest in the Gamecocks.
“They invited me down and I got a chance to see what they’re about,” Turner said.
This past summer, USC was one of the camps that Turner attended and he got a chance to meet with some of the coaches.
“I talked to coach (Steve) Spurrier and the quarterback coach (G.A. Mangus),” Turner said. “They asked me about my grades and what my (40) time was. I like USC and where the program is headed. I’ve heard good things about their education.”
Missouri is the other school Turner mentioned that has been showing interest.
His next visits will likely have to wait until the spring and Turner is unsure which schools he would like to visit. He did name one in particular.
“I have to talk to my mom about it before I will really know,” he said. “I would like to visit Georgia. I had a chance to go to a game there but I couldn’t make it. “I like the atmosphere they bring to the game.”
Turner is waiting on his first offer and did not name any favorites.
