Arkansas has begun to show interest in 2016 OL John Guthrie of Byrnes and that interest is being reciprocated. Guthrie has been invited to see the Razorbacks in person this season but has been unable to make the trip. That will not keep him from visiting in the future.
“It’s pretty far away so I couldn’t make it this season but I’ll probably go visit in the spring or summer,” Guthrie said. “I like Arkansas a lot. They play in the SEC and that’s big-time football.”
Guthrie has not received any offers to date but is hearing from several schools. Along with Arkansas, Purdue and Pitt are the more recent schools to show interest in the Upstate lineman. He continues to hear from Georgia Tech and NC State.
“I wasn’t able to take many visits this season,” he said. “I probably won’t take any visits until this spring. I’d like to visit Arkansas, NC State and Georgia Tech.”
Guthrie has visited Georgia Tech several times and remains interested in the Yellow Jackets. “It’s a good school and I like their coaches,” he said.
He is a fan of Clemson and is waiting to see if the Tigers and USC show more interest following the season. Guthrie does not have any favorites.
