Steve Spurrier didn’t take any questions during his post game press conference Saturday night, but he took a few Sunday on his teleconference. USC is 4-5 following a an overtime loss to Tennessee. The Gamecocks blew a 14 point fourth quarter lead in that one. USC has blown a double-digit lead in three games this season, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee. Spurrier said there was plenty of blame to go around for the loss. “‘We all lost it – the offense, defense, special teams, coaches, players. Fans were super.”
Spurrier: “I like to beat teams that it looks like your supposed to beat them. ..I’ve had some losses that I’m not used to having.”
Spurrier said he has thought about quitting the past 10 years when things get bad, but he looks big picture. He thinks they have help coming.
Spurrier said Na’Ty Rodgers is looking to transfer.
Spurrier praised the play of Pharoh Cooper. He caught a touchdown, threw a touchdown pass, ran for a touchdown and recovered an onside kick.
Spurrier said all the coaches are jobs are secure. He said they all have two year contracts and they are the same ones that were there for the 11 win seasons.
