Junior DE Norman Hand Jr. (6-3 235) of Colleton County wants to visit North Carolina before the season ends. The Tar Heels are the only school to offer Hand but he’s drawing interest from Duke, Purdue, Penn State and Kentucky.
Hand spoke with Clemson and USC back in the spring but has not heard from either program since then.
“I like North Carolina,” Hand said. “They offer a really good education and I like the football team. I think I could fit in well up there.”
Hand attended a camp at North Carolina over the summer and continues to hear from the coaches. He does not have a favorite but does have interest in UNC.
Hand is taking things slowly and wants to allow his recruitment more time.
“What is most important to me is the academics,” he said. “That would benefit me because, if football doesn’t work out, I want a good education that would help me get a job when it’s over.”
