The Clemson baseball team Tuesday picked up a commitment for the 2016 class from 3B Carter Kieboom (6-2 175) of Marietta, GA. He’s the brother of former Tiger star catcher Spencer Kieboom who is now in professional baseball. Another brother, 3B Trevor, signed with the Tigers in 2012 but is now at Georgia.
According to PerfectGame.com, Kieboom also was recruited by Georgia Tech, Florida State, Florida, North Carolina, Virginia and Vanderbilt. Here’s the PerfectGame scouting report:
Large frame, tall thin athletic build. Hits from a crouched stance, quick hands, line drive swing plane, swung the bat well in games with a simple approach and little wasted motion. Good bat speed and extension, loose swing actions, projectable hitting tools. Charges the baseball well defensively, strong arm, good carry on throws. Both handed pitcher, more natural from the right side, quick right arm from a high three quarters arm slot, good spin on 11-5 curveball, fastball up to 85. From the left side he pitches from a three quarter arm sl with an online delivery and an extended release, less smooth and natural from the left side but was effective from both sides with a fastball up to 80 from the left side. Good student, named to the National Underclass Main Event top prospect team.
Kieboom gives Clemson six commitments for the 2016 class.
