For the second time in the game, the defenses ruled the quarter keeping the offenses at bay in a scoreless quarter. Clemson did have one nice drive of 14 plays and over 7 minutes, but the Tigers only advanced to midfield and had to punt.
The Eagles had a great scoring opportunity on their second possession. They ran a double reverse pass and Josh Bordner, a quarterback converted to a tight end, threw 35 yards to Charlie Callinan to the Clemson 29. But Callinan was well behind the Clemson defense and had the ball not hung in the air for an extended period, he would have easily scored.
