DL Nyles Pinckney of Whale Branch traveled Saturday to visit Florida. The Gators hosted LSU and showed Pinckney a good time.
“I really liked it there,” he said. “I liked how big the stadium was and how loud the crowd is. They stayed in the game the whole time. Florida is telling me they like me a lot. They think that I could make a good defensive line better. They really want me.”
Pinckney does not have any favorites but is showing interest in the Gators. Clemson and USC are two other schools that Pinckney mentioned. He visited Clemson recently and was impressed with the Tigers’ program.
“It was really nice,” Pinckney said. “I got a chance to talk to coach (Dabo) Swinney and coach (Tony) Elliott. They’re just telling me how they think that I would have a good opportunity to play there because they’re losing a lot of defensive linemen. My mom likes Clemson a lot. Coach Swinney told me that he could develop me into a better player and a better man.”
Pinckney has yet to visit USC but is considering a trip to Columbia when the Gamecocks host Tennessee.
“USC just came to visit me at my school,” he said “They wanted to see how I was doing and see if I was still interested in them. I like USC. They always have good defensive linemen coming out of there and they have my major. I want to study International Business and they have a really good school for that.”
Pinckney has offers from Clemson, USC, Florida State, Florida, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Miami and Georgia.
