Too bad there aren’t any more teams from the Tar Heel State visiting Clemson this season. After putting up a combined 91 points against North Carolina and NC State, the Tigers would love to bring in some more meat from the north to Death Valley. Alas, their only remaining game involving a Tobacco Road team will be at Wake Forest later in the season.
There were plenty of smiles and high fives after yesterday’s beat down of the Wolfpack. The offense shined again behind Deshine (uh, Deshaun) Watson. Mike Williams, on his 20th birthday, had two long touchdown catches. And the running game reappeared.
But the defense really caught everyone’s attention. They recorded their first shutout since Dabo Swinney became head coach and it came against a team that basically went up and down the field against Florida State the previous week. Wolfpack quarterback Jacoby Brissett, who burned FSU for 32 completions and 359 yards, managed just four completions for 35 yards against the Tigers.
