Here is the PerfectGame scouting report on the lefthanded hitting Beer:
Broad shouldered athletic build, very good present strength with more to come, 2016 with a 2015 birthdate. Left handed hitter, loose long swing with a high extended finish, very good bat speed, pull and lift approach with big power potential, ball jumps off the barrel well, front side will leak out early at times looking to pull, sees the ball well and has quality game at bats. 7.07 runner, moves well in the outfield, fields the ball comfortable and works through it with good footwork, strong arm with on line carry, solid right field tools. Good student.
Beer is Clemson’s fifth commitment for the 2016 class. He also plays third and is a righthanded pitcher. Last season he batted .589 with 10 home runs and 56 RBIs in helping to lead Lambert High School to the Georgia 6A championship. On the mound he was 6-0 with a 0.53 ERA. He struck out 43 batters in 39.1 innings.
Beer was named the Forsyth County Player of the Year.
