Clemson is among the many teams to have offered junior DB Deontay Anderson (6-1 200) of Manvel, TX. Anderson has some interest in Clemson and said the Tigers maintain communication with him.
“They send me a lot of letters,” he said. “They’re inviting me to a lot of stuff. They’ve told me how much they need me. I would like to visit but I will have to see how it goes. It’s pretty far from home.”
Anderson is becoming more familiar with Clemson and likes what he has seen.
“I know they’re a pretty good team,” he said. “They always have good wide receivers and defensive backs.”
Among his other offers are Florida, Florida State, Alabama, Auburn, Texas, Notre Dame, Texas A&M, Southern Cal, UCLA, Stanford, LSU, Mississippi State, Arkansas, Michigan State, Missouri, North Carolina and Georgia.
He has visited Baylor and Houston thus far and will be at Auburn this weekend. “I know it’s a pretty good school,” Anderson said. “I like their defensive backs coach.”
Anderson plans to narrow his list following the season and will commit prior to his senior season.
As a sophomore, he totaled 110 tackles with four interceptions and 10 pass deflections.
