PG PJ Dozier of Spring Valley went into September with 5 schools on his list, but a sixth has joined the list in the Maryland Terrapins.
“Maryland has been in the mix for a while and we decided to let them come in,” Dozier’s father Perry said Thursday.
The head coaches from USC, North Carolina, Michigan and Maryland have made in home visits this month and Louisville will be in Wednesday.
“All of them (visits) went extremely well,” Perry Dozier said. “None was any better than the other. All were good which is what we expected. We’re looking forward to the (official) visits that will be the determining factor.
And there’s been a couple of changes on that schedule. Michigan is still September 26th but North Carolina has been moved up to October 3rd. Georgetown remains October 17th but USC has been moved up a week to October 24th. And either Maryland or Louisville will get the fifth visit.
Louisville’s status with Dozier was complicated by the commitment to and then quick decommitment from the Cardinals by shooting guard Antonio Blakeney. The Louisville Courier-Journal reported Thursday night the Cardinals will no longer recruit Blakeney and have renewed their interest to Dozier.
“PJ was always the first choice at Louisville,” Perry Dozier said. “We’ll pull back (from Louisville) and see how things look.”
As the official visits approach, there is no favorite.
“I’m his dad and I can’t even feel him out,” Dozier said. “He said, ‘I’ll know when I know.’ He likes all of them.”
