Phone conversations over the next two days between the mother of LB Amonte Caban of Smiths Station, AL and the recruiters from the five schools he’s still considering will play a major role in Caban’s decison which he hopes to make by Wednesday. If he’s not able to do so by then, Caban said the decision will come Monday at the latest.
The first call will be Tuesday to USC recruiter Kirk Botkin. “It’s pretty important because my mom wants to know everything,” Caban said. “I’m the baby of the family so she wants to know how much access she will have to me, what I’ll be doing and where I’ll stay.”
Even before these calls takes place, Caban already has a good feel for where he wants to go. “I have a pretty good idea of where I want to go but I want my mom to talk to all of the coaches,” Caban said. “I feel like I know where I want to go but I want her to talk to the coaches and then I’ll get her side of it. Where I feel I want to go is South Carolina or Mississippi State. Those are my main two. South Carolina would be my favorite.”
Caban’s team is off to a 2-0 start. He had 18 tackles in last Friday’s game.
