Georgia forced another Clemson punt to open the quarter and then said enough of playing kick back. The Bulldogs went on a 6 play, 82 yard drive with Gurley carrying most of the load. He had a 38 yard run to the Clemson 42, and after Sony Michel ran 17 yards to the 18, Gurley took it home from there for a 31-21 Georgia lead with 10:26 to play.
After forcing a punt on Clemson’s next possession, Georgia pounded the ball on the ground again with Nick Chub rumbling 47 yards for a touchdown on the Bulldogs first play from scrimmage. That made it 38-21 Georgia with 8:53 to play.
After forcing another three-and-out, Georgia went back to work on the ground. On first down Todd, Gurley went 51 yards for another touchdown. That made it 45-21 Georgia with 7:54 to play in the game. That gave Gurley 198 yards rushing, with three touchdowns. He also had the 100 yard kickoff return for a score.
