Phil Kornblut is covering the ACC Kickoff 2014 at the Grandover Resort in Greensboro, NC. Sunday was the day for the players to face the media and Monday the coaches will be thru.
Clemson will start a new quarterback this season in fifth year senior Cole Stoudt. Tiger fans have had the luxury the last three years of knowing what to expect under center. Stoudt, despite playing in mob up roles the last three seasons, is still a relative unknown.
He has shown great passing accuracy but has never been charged with leading the Tigers full time in crucial game situations.
Sunday Stoudt talked with SportsTalk about finally getting his chance and what he hopes to show Tiger fans.
Last season Stoudt completed 49 of 59 passes (79.7%) and threw 5 touchdown passes with no interceptions. In 22 games with the Tigers, Stoudt has completed over 72% of his passes with 8 touchdowns and 1 interception.
He’ll make the first start of his career in the Tigers’ opener at Georgia.
