Stephen Garcia left the USC football program in 2011 as one of the most controversial figures in Gamecock sports history. He was loved by the fans for his performance on the field and loathed by the same nation for his exploits off it.
Garcia has moved on from those days and is now a father for a second time. He continues to dabble in football with the Tampa indoor league team, but by and large, Garcia is starting to realize his football days on the field basically are behind him.
Off the field, however, is another story. Garcia recently was hired by the website “Saturday Down South” to be a college football analyst. And it is in that roll that he is mingling with the media and coaches at SEC Media Days.
Monday night we, along with Reggie Anderson of Columbia’s WLTX-TV, talked with Garcia on Radio Row.
Garcia also has committed to a weekly appearance on SportsTalk during the season to share his observations on USC, Clemson and other teams in the SEC and ACC.
