The 15-0 USC baseball team holds the top spot in two of the biggest college baseball polls. The Gamecocks maintained their top ranking in Collegiate Baseball for a second week, and they moved up three spots to number one in this week’s Baseball America poll. USC won five games last week, two over Stetson and three over Brown. The Gamecocks have eight shutouts in their first 15 games, including all three games against Brown.
Clemson is 14th in the Baseball America poll; that is one spot higher than last week. The Tigers are 28th in the Collegiate Baseball poll, up two spots from a week ago. The Tigers lost at Western Carolina last week, but bounced back with a three game sweep over Virginia Tech in their opening ACC series.
USC will play Furman tomorrow night in Columbia, and then they will open SEC play with a home series against Ole Miss this weekend. Clemson has a home game with Appalachian State Wednesday night, and they have an ACC series at Wake Forest this weekend.
