Clemson will be the next visit for DE Trevon Hill (6-3 215) of Virginia Beach. After visiting Tennessee this past weekend, Hill will be in the Upstate for a junior day this Saturday.
He is excited about what he might see. “Clemson is a big-time program,” Hill said. “They just beat Ohio State in the Orange Bowl. Clemson puts a lot of players in the league and they’re looking for defensive linemen. I hope to see what I am expecting because I am looking for a good atmosphere down there.”
The offer from the Tigers surprised Hill. “One of their coaches came by my high school to talk to my coach,” he said. “He knows my coach because he recruited him out of high school. My coach mentioned me to him and he took a look at me. He went back down to Clemson and I guess they talked about me because a couple of weeks later, they offered me.”
His other offers include Virginia, Virginia Tech, North Carolina, Duke, Wake Forest and Old Dominion with interest from Ohio State, Florida, Auburn, Tennessee, East Carolina, Penn State and Maryland.
Hill has visited each school that’s offered him except Clemson and Wake Forest. “I’ll start narrowing my list in October down to five or ten depending on how many more offers I get,” he said. “Then I’ll commit next year. I want to enjoy my recruitment.”
