DB Steven Griffin of Charlotte is no stranger to the Clemson family. In fact, he is the son of former RB Steve Griffin. One of his offers is from the Tigers and the legacy is showing a lot of interest in Clemson. “I’ve built a really good relationship with a couple of the coaches,”: Griffin said. “I like them a lot. They’ve told me they think that I could come in there and make an impact at safety.” His familiarity with Clemson should come at no surprise. “I grew up with Clemson football, you know, since my dad played there,” he said. “I’ve just always known about them and been a part of it.” Though interested, Griffin wanted make it clear he does not have any favorites. “I know on Rivals it says that I’m high on Clemson and Tennessee,” he said. “That makes it seems like they’re my favorites. I don’t want to have any favorites just yet.” The Volunteers have offered along with Michigan, Duke, NC State, North Carolina, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech and Old Dominion. Griffin has been to junior days at Clemson and Tennessee with several future visits planned. “I know I’m going to North Carolina and Wake Forest,” he said. “I’m probably going to NC State and I’m going to try to get up to Ohio State and maybe Michigan.” As far as a decision, Griffin said that depends on future offers. “If I don’t get any more offers soon, I’ll start looking to make a decision by late-spring or maybe early this summer,” Griffin said.
