OL Zach Giella of Augusta took his first unofficial visit to USC Tuesday where he had a chance to meet with the coaches and visit the campus. Giella is no stranger to Columbia but was pleased with the opportunity to visit USC. “My brother moved up there for a job so I know Columbia pretty well,” he said. “I have camped at USC and seen it before, but this was my first visit. USC is a great program and I enjoyed talking to the coaches.” Though he does not have any favorites, he is showing interest in the Gamecocks. “I got a chance to talk to some of the coaches and they told me what my role might be if I went there,” Giella said. “They see me as a tackle but told me they want me to learn all of the positions. They said that if I came in and worked hard, there would be a chance to contribute early.” Giella has not scheduled his next visit but does have an idea of where it will be. “I’m thinking I could go to Mississippi State in March but that is not for sure yet,” he said. “I’ll probably go to Kentucky and back to USC in April.” His offers are from USC, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Duke and Missouri with interest from Virginia, Stanford and Vanderbilt. He does not have any favorites.
