Tonight we welcomed into SportsTalk one of the most successful coaches the state of South Carolina has ever known at the high school level on the football field, Bobby Bentley.
Bentley, during two different stints as the leader of the program, has led the Rebels to multiple state championships and has turned the Duncan, South Carolina high school into a national power.
Bentley left the high school ranks in 2007 to take over the football program at his alma mater, Presbyterian. After two seasons with the Blue Hose, he returned to the Byrnes staff. Now Bentley is headed back to the college ranks, accepting a position on the offensive staff at Auburn.
Bentley told SportsTalk why now was the right time to make the move out west to join one of the premier staffs in college football, what his new position entails, and also what it means for his son’s future college career.
