After losing a twelve point lead over the final seven minutes of the first half and trailing by one at halftime, Clemson scored the first nine points of the second half and never looked back as the Tigers pulled way to a 73-56 victory over NC State Tuesday night at Littlejohn Coliseum. State never got closer than six points the rest of the way.
The win snaps a three game losing streak for Clemson and improve their record to 16-9 overall and 7-6 in the ACC. State falls to 16-10 and 6-7.
The game shifted during a crucial stretch of nearly seven minutes starting at the 9:22 mark of the second half. Clemson led by seven but State would miss eight straight shots and commit two turnovers. The Tigers built the lead to 19 points with 2:51 to play and Brad Brownell was able to clear his bench.
Rod Hall led the Tigers with a career high 20 points. He was one of three Tigers to score in double figures.
