January is a month of transition for us here at SportsTalk as we turn our attention from the cleats to the squeaks of the hardcourt. That doesn’t mean we don’t have time to get an early preview on the prominent baseball programs located in the state as well.
Tuesday night Clemson head baseball coach Jack Leggett joined SportsTalk to give us the early, early preview concerning his Tigers, as they tentatively plan on starting practice on Friday.
We would be remiss if we didn’t immediately touch on coach Leggett’s induction into the American Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame earlier this month in Dallas. Coach provided his thoughts on receiving the honor.
Leggett also provided some insight into his returning personnel, including eight position starters, and a slew of arms with plenty of experience. This returning group was a big reason Clemson compiled 40 wins last season. Coach also elaborated on the rehab of Kevin Pohle, the renovations to Doug Kingsmore Stadium and much more.
