TE Jackson Harris of Columbia, TN has seen a bevy of recruiters come thru his school to check on him this month. Georgia head coach Mark Richt has been by and Vanderbilt coach James Franklin is due in on Friday. Recruiters from Purdue, Tennessee, Virginia Tech and Mississippi State also have been in. Clemson has not been by yet but Harris said he talks regularly with recruiter Robbie Caldwell. “I’m very interested (in Clemson),” Harris said. “I really like them a lot. It’s definitely one of the places I’m looking at a lot. Coach Caldwell says I’m one of his top guys. I went up there during the season and had a great time. I really like Clemson. It’s definitely going to be one of those top schools towards the end.” Clemson’s engineering program is a major attraction to Harris who maintains that he does not have any favorites. Virginia Tech and Louisville are his most recent offers. He plans to go to a junior day at Virginia Tech and is also looking at trips to Clemson, Georgia, Vanderbilt, Tennessee and Florida State for junior days or spring practice. Harris had three touchdown catches this season.
Clemson Friday offered junior RB Eric Swinney of Tyrone, GA. He’s a teammate of Clemson 2014 commitment Demarre Kitt. His other offers include Florida State, Georgia, Auburn, Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Virginia Tech, Kentucky, North Carolina and Minnesota.
Clemson Friday also offered junior RB Mikell Lands-Davis of Douglasville, GA. Clemson is his first offer.
Socastee QB Hunter Renfrow, a Shrine Bowl selection as an athlete, has an offer to walk on at Clemson as well as full offers from Appalachian State and Wofford. This season Renfrow rushed for 1492 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Interest is rising in junior WR Dupree Hart (5-7 170) of Northwestern. Hart put on a show in the state championship game with 21 catches. He finished the season with 114 catches for 1645 yards and 26 touchdowns. “He’s the best I’ve ever coached,” said Northwestern coach Kyle Richardson. Everybody that’s come in to recruit (Mason) Rundolph are very interested, but they are a little scared of his size.” Richardson said USC, Virginia Tech and Pittsburgh are the most recent schools to express interest in Hart. LSU and Clemson have also showed interest and he’s also hearing from Coastal Carolina, Charleston Southern and Appalachian State.
Also at Northwestern, Shrine Bowl DB Cory Seargeant is hearing from Nebraska, Kansas State, East Carolina, Appalachian State and Charlotte; North-South DB Jaquavious Mackey is likely headed to junior college; and North-South OL Raydonn McCloud is hearing from Citadel, Charleston Southern, Limestone and Campbell.
