WR Tyshun Samuel of Chapman enjoyed his unofficial visit to USC for the Coastal Carolina game when he picked up an offer from the Gamecocks. “I just loved everything about it,” he said. “I loved the whole football side of things with the way they do things, to the locker room…and the academics were really nice.” Asked if the offer could mean a commitment, he replied, “Yes sir.” North Carolina is the other school Samuel has been considering. He plans to have a formal announcement at his school December 14th.
WR Josh Malone of Gallatin, TN will announce his decision December 4th at 2:00 PM Eastern. Malone made his official visit to Clemson last weekend. He’s also considering Tennessee, Georgia, Ohio State and Florida State. Paul Strelow of TigerIllustrated.com reports Dabo Swinney will have his in home visit on Monday. Coaches from the other schools were getting in this week. And Georgia coach Mark Richt even talked publicly Tuesday about how Malone would fit in at Georgia. That’s legal since Malone has signed financial aid papers with Georgia as well as the other schools.
DE Dante Sawyer of Suwanee, GA has announced he will make his college decision known on his birthday, December 17th. Sawyer has had USC, Auburn, Tennessee and Missouri as his favorites. Sawyer has been to games this season at USC, Auburn, Tennessee and Georgia. Sawyer said last month that USC was “up there” with him as recruiter Deke Adams is selling him on the fact the Gamecocks are losing both of their starting defensive ends. Sawyer has never publicly stated a favorite.
DB Wesley Green of Lithonia, GA confirmed via text message that he does plan to attend the USC-Clemson game Saturday. Exchanging texts with Green, he did answer a few more questions. When asked if this trip would be an official visit he responded, “I’m not sure yet.” Green also said that he does not have a list of favorites but is interested in the Gamecocks. When asked if he had any other visits scheduled, his response was, “Not at the moment.” Green has been tight-lipped since decommitting from USC but is giving the indication that the Gamecocks are very much in the picture. Georgia, Tennessee and Ole Miss are also expected to receive visits from Green. He did not name a leader.
