Clemson’s offense continued to sputter in the early minutes of the second half before finally getting into the end zone twice within a minute, though only one of the scores counted. Boyd found Martavis Bryant down the right sideline for a 48 yard scoring pass but the Tigers were flagged for an illegal formation. Two plays later, Boyd hit Sammy Watkins on a similar pass down the right side for, you got it, 48 yards and the touchdown. The Tigers have their first lead of the game 10-7 with 6:59 left in the quarter.
That lead lasted all of 19 seconds. On their first play of the next possession, BC retook the lead on a 69 yard pass from Chase Rettig to Alex Amidon and the Eagles lead 14-10.
The quarter ends with Clemson on the move at the Boston College 33.
