Clemson offensive lineman Isiah Battle was ejected in the final minutes of Thursday night’s win over NC State for throwing a punch that would have made Floyd Mayweather proud. The officials say the uppercut and immediately threw the flag and sent Battle to the locker room. Chances are he will be suspended for at least the first half of next week’s game against Wake Forest.

Tigers coach Dabo Swinney praised Battle for his play up to that point, but said his actions at the end of the game were unacceptable.
“Very disappointed in Isiah Battle,” Swinney said. “Man, that’s something, that cant’ ever happen. Really, really disappointed. That’s not Clemson. That’s a lesson for every one of those guys and that’s something we talked a lot about it the locker room. That’s disappointing. I will say this; he took ownership, he apologized immediately, he apologized to the team, and that’s something that won’t happen again I can assure you. But it’s something we will have to deal with right now.”
