WR Braxton Berrios of Raleigh will make an official visit to USC this weekend. He has already taken official visits to Oregon and Miami. Berrios told GamecockCentral he will take an official visit to Tennessee October 5th and right now he plans for that to be his final official visit. He’s not claiming a favorite.
DB DJ Smith of Marietta, GA is one of the nation’s top uncommitted seniors. From dozens of offers he has narrowed his list to USC, Clemson, Georgia and Tennessee. He was in Athens last week for the USC-Georgia game. As of Wednesday night he did not have any travel plans for this weekend. Smith visited Clemson in the spring and he dropped in at USC earlier in the summer. Smith has not set his official visits but said most likely they will be with his final four. And he said he does not have a favorite. Smith won’t announce a decision until signing day.
Junior QB Torrance Gibson of Plantation, FL has an offer from Clemson but has not heard from the Tigers lately. He is unsure of Clemson’s interest level but has not ruled out a visit in the future. Gibson has not been to any games this season. “I may have to wait for the summer before I take any visits,” he said adding, “I would like to go to the Miami-Florida State game. I was going to go to Miami this week but I got out of practice late and couldn’t make it.” His other offers are from Ohio State, Notre Dame, Miami, Florida State, Florida, Ole Miss, Alabama, West Virginia, South Florida Boston College and Nebraska. He says that Ohio State, Miami and Ole Miss are showing the most interest. Gibson continues to express interest in Clemson and does not have any favorites. As for a future visit to Clemson he said, “You would have to speak with Mario Perez. He takes me everywhere. He takes me to camps and stuff like that.” Perez is his offensive coordinator.
