Junior RB Chris Warren (6-2 225) of Rockwall, TX visited Clemson this summer and was offered by Tiger recruiter Chad Morris, himself a Texas native. “It’s an absolutely beautiful campus, it was great,” Warren said of his summertime trip. “The indoor practice facility is amazing. I learned a lot about the school in general and talked with coach Morris quite a bit. I think I would fit in pretty good.” Warren is a powerful runner with good speed. Last season he rushed for 1059 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also has offers from Alabama, Baylor, Mississippi State, Ohio State, Oklahoma, SMU, Texas, Texas Tech, Colorado and Ole Miss. Florida and Texas A&M are also showing interest and he plans to be in College Station Saturday. Warren said Clemson will definitely be under consideration as he goes thru the process and the distance is not a factor. He doesn’t plant to make his decision until signing day of his senior season.
DE Lorenzo Featherston of Greensboro, NC was at the Georgia at Clemson game and plans to be at the Clemson-NC State game next Thursday night. He’s not claiming favorites at this time from among Clemson, USC, Tennessee, North Carolina, NC State, Oregon and Auburn. He has not timeline for a decision.
Class of 2015 OL Steven Gonzalez of Union City, NJ had hoped to visit USC this football season to attend a game but now says those plans may be scratched. He continues to hear from the Gamecocks and remains interested. “I wish I could go to a game this year but I don’t think I’m going to be able to make it,” he said. “I still hear from coach (G.A.) Mangus. He told me to watch the game this past weekend. Unfortunately they lost but that doesn’t change anything. I still think they’ll continue to get better and compete for a title.” He has offers from USC, Rutgers, Louisville, Boston College, Virginia, UMass and Syracuse have offered with interest coming from Miami, Florida State, Alabama, Penn State, Ohio State and Notre Dame among others. “I am still getting letters, schools are still following me on twitter and on Facebook,” said Gonzalez. “So far, so good.” Among the schools that have not offered, Gonzalez said the ones showing the most interest are Alabama and Oregon. He will visit Rutgers this weekend and may attend the Penn State-Michigan game. “I’ll probably have to wait until the off-season before I can visit South Carolina,” he added.
