After Davis’ long run to the Georgia 5 to end the third, Davis got the Gamecocks into the end zone on the third attempt taking a pitch from Shaw and powering his way in from three yards out. But the snap on the extra point was low and Fry missed it to the left. Georgia leads 34-30 with 13:55 to play.
Georgia took the momentum right back with another big pass play from Murray. Facing third and long from his own 15, Murray found Justin Scott-Wesley behind Ahmad Christian down the left sideline and hit him in stride. Scott-Wesley outraced TJ Gurley to the end zone for a 85 yard scoring play. Georgia leads 41-30.
USC went right back down the field and drove to the Georgia half yard line. But on fourth and goal Davis took a pitch from Shaw and was thrown for a two yard loss.
Georgia took over on its own one yard line, but the Bulldogs managed to move it off the shadows of their goal line and actually moved the ball into Gamecock territory, taking a lot of crucial time off the clock in the process. In fact the Bulldogs took the rest of the time off the clock and clinched the win, 41-30.
