DE Andrew Williams of McDonough, GA would like to visit USC within the next two weeks. With the beginning of school looming, he says he needs to make the visit soon. “If I don’t go this weekend, I need to go the next weekend because school is about to start, and when it does, it’s going to be hard to get (to USC) before the season starts,” said Williams. His reason for visiting is to get to know the coaches better and to see where he would fit in. “I need to sit down with the coaches and break down film,” he said. “They’ve told me that there are a lot of older guys there that won’t be around much longer and that I would have a chance to make an impact as a freshman.” He has done the same thing at Clemson, Georgia, Auburn and Tennessee this summer. Williams does not have any favorites and is using these visits to determine his leaders. “I want to take all of my official visits and this is giving me an idea of who I like,” he said. Though he is not ready to reveal a list of top schools, he did say he has an idea of who he likes. Williams named Clemson and USC as schools of interest. He does not have a time frame for naming his favorites.
Clemson has made a grayshirt offer to LB Jalen Williams of Blythewood according to Paul Strelow of TigerIllustrated. Williams has offers from Appalachian State, Furman, Wofford, Coastal Carolina, Charleston Southern and Presbyterian. Williams camped at Clemson in June and was impressive. Last season he had 102 tackles with 3 sacks.
DL Poona Ford of Hilton Head plans to announce his decision August 7th at his school. USC, Tennessee and Louisville have been his top three.
