USC senior first baseman LB Dantzler earned All-America honors from Baseball America Wednesday. Dantzler earned third team honors as a designated hitter.
Dantzler put together one of the Gamecocks best individual offensive seasons since the bats were changed a few years ago. He hit .322 with 15 home runs and 53 RBI. He led the team in all three of those categories. He also led the team in on-base percentage (.444) and slugging percentage (.617).
Dantlzer was drafted by the Blue Jays in the 14th round of last week’s MLB draft. He was the only player with ties to an in-state team to be recognized.
